3D Model Project

Our 8 years old daughter designs a computer toy for her puppet doll. It called ePig. She gave me the drawing with its back, front, right view for 3D reference.

Then I built the 3D model in Cinema 4D software, showed it to her until she was satisfied and approved the model. Got it ready for 3D printing in Blender software and sent it to Shapeways for printing.

Couple weeks later, the model arrived. So excited with our first 3D model project! Can't wait to prepare for another 3D model.

Arwen & Leia's Mural 2

Back in 2009, we allowed Arwen & Leia to draw on the wall, only in a specific space near their bed.

Mural

Years later, after we moved to another apartment, they seem want to do the same rebelious art activity. Though we never give permission for drawing on the wall, they keep doing it in a small space near their bed in bedroom wall. Then the space gets bigger & larger.

Seems our children are not drawing on the wall. They're decorating the wall. #pinoditart

Though we never stop give them papers, it doesn't stop them to drag their markers to the wall. "Wall is bigger than paper," they say.

We amazed. We're no longer see toddler's doodles. We see the real art development of our children. Their skills are growing & more advanced.

Kids, don't draw on the wall!!! Oh well.. keep it up then. #pinoditart Mural by our 6yo & 8yo daughters on their bedroom wall. #pinoditart

Seems we have to make a new rule for them. They can keep drawing on their wall, as long as it's beautiful and well drawn :)

Our Children Create Their First Animation Project On Vine

They have been watching their dad doing some animation & stop-motion on Vine & examining on how doing a frame-by-frame animation. Suddenly they realized that they can create their own cartoon movie. So my older daughter drew 6 frames of animation & recorded it on Vine.

We created a private Vine account for her & get some selected/filtered followers to avoid online trolls or rude negative comments. Her Vine account is 'Arwen Shaula'. Let me know if you want to follow her Vine :)

A Quick Instant Cardboard Project

Kids! We have cardboard! Let's create something from it!
Arwen starts creating her own project: guitar & headphone with microphone. And Neo wants a space rocket. He gets bored easily and cannot wait, so I have to do it quick & fast.

Fortunately, there are some awesome DIY cardboard rocket on the internet, like this one. Easy & can be done in minutes. Meanwhile, Arwen is busy with her project, helped by Leia. Seems they are preparing a music concert.

All done! The rocket now is flying chasing Neo, while Arwen & Leia doing their music concert.

WHOOOSSHHH!! Not bad for a quick instant cardboard project!</p>

Kids Doing Video Reviews

iPad is more than an educational tool for Arwen (6yo), Leia (4yo) & Neo (1.6yo). When they interact with the apps inside it, the whole world is changing. What they touch, see & feel now will shape their tomorrow. Their future. Our future.

Toca Tea Party

We select some apps & make video reviews (these videos are also our personal documentations about their development stage.)

Teddy's Night

The innocent expressions, laughs & smiles are the parameter on how is the app doing to enhance the creativity & curiousity. This is important for the app developers & also for us, their parents.

Teddy's Day

This is what we think about iPad role in our family. Our future.

Kitchen Set

Our kids are easily get bored. Hence we choose to make their own toys rather than buying toys at the toy store. On the one hand we're taught to save money. And on the other hand teaches them to appreciate the creative process :).

This is a kitchen set that we made using old water boxes.

Arwen & Leia's Mural

Drawing is one of human basic needs, especially drawing on the wall. The wall is big, large & gives lots of space for expression. Cave men painting on their cave. Egyptian created stories on their wall. People doing graffities on public walls.

Mural

Similar to what Arwen & Leia did to our bedroom wall. It's about basic needs for freedom & expression :)

from left to right, clockwise : Leia's, Dita's, Arwen's, Pinot's

Everybody took part on this project. I let them draw whatever they want on a piece of plain fabric. After that, I modified their drawing and sew the fabric one by one to make tote bags that we can use to keep and organize some stuffs.

And.....Taaaaraaaaaaaa!!!!

Poker Cards

I don't know where did they get the idea of playing poker cards. They insisted to buy poker cards.

"Why don't we make by ourself, darling? Mommy will cut the paper then you draw them. I'm sure it would be more fun!"

See, they enjoyed pretending to play poker :D

A Simple Hack of Belkin TuneTie for iPod

Pinot bought this product to manage our iPod Touch's earbud cord. Unfortunately, it wasn't fit for iPod Touch. We didn't realize, it only compatible with iPod old generation.

So we did a simple hack of it and have fun with the girls :D

Newspaper Hats

We got this brilliant idea from Maya. What a wonderful way to recycle newspapers.

Crafting with Kids

We didn't have fresh/paper flowers to decorate the hats, so we made our own flowers style from scarps of fabric combined with ribbons.

My creation

You will need :
-Newspapers
-Scissor
-Masking Tape
-Flower/Ribbon/Crepe Paper
-Glue, if you use Ribbon/Crepe Paper

And here's the steps ;). Enjoy!

Stitching with Kids

Our girls, Arwen and Leia really enjoy watching me sewing or stitching. They would get very excited and asked me some needles and threads to stitch on their own.

This is what they were doing, when I was busy with my sewing machine.
