Glass Art Project

My sister, Dini, send me glass art paints from Indonesia. Thanks a bunch, dear. I really love it!! Look what I've done 2 days a go with the paints. Cute isn't it? *psssttt....actually she send this for Arwen, but I couldn't resist to use the paints...sorry Arwen ;)*

Glass Art Project

I was having so much fun drawing and painting on a glass. The paint is bright and opaque when wet but dries to a flexible, transparent, plastic finish. These paints can be used to create motifs to decorate window, mirror, used bottle, candle holder, etc.

And I've been experimenting with acrylic paints as well. This is the result.

I think this is going to be my new hobby ;).

Mbak Dita, salam kenal ya, ternyata hobby kita sama banget, walaupun aku gak sehebat mbak, hehe. Aku lagi getol2nya ngepersonalized barang-barang di rumah, dengan sentuhan pribadi (biar jelek, tp bikinan sendiri kan, hehe). Aku baru mo posting photo2 tentang decor, tapi gitu liat postingan mbak, minder. Aku link situs2 mbak di tempatku ya...

pernah baca buku crafts, utk glass painting bisa pake cat minyak. Gimana hasilnya pake cat akrilik, setelah dicuci apa masih nempel catnya dibotol?

Hi,
Found your blog via Ikea hacker - and been exploring since. You are an artistic family! And wow, so many blogs! Pity so many in Bahasa which I can't understand. One thing about these glass paints - are they water proof or water soluble? I tried acrylic fabric paints on glass bottles once, to make vases, and after a while the paint dulled and lost its lustre, partly due to the dust and grime. Unfortunately, it scrubbed itself off when I tried to clean it. The glass paints I could find were all water soluble too. So I tried with marker pens - the sort you use to write on transparencies. It is working, so far, but the colours are again looking a bit dull :(
