The ingredients can be found in your kitchen. This recipe may be used for jewellery making.
You will need :
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup cornflour
1/2 cup salt
vegetable dye or food colouring
bowl
90 ml warm water
toothpicks
clear gloss enamel
Method :
1. Mix first 5 ingredients in bowl. Add warm water gradually until mixture can be kneaded into a stiff dough. Dust with flour to reduce stickiness.
2. Mixture may be rolled into balls for beads. Pierce each bead with a toothpick then gently make circular movements to increase the size of the hole. Allow to dry for a few days. Large beads take longer to dry.

3. Holes should be checked after a day to see if they need punching. Paint if desired.

This recipe makes a reasonably smooth dough that retains colour when dry. If desired, coat beads with clear gloss enamel to bring out colour.
